Do conductors have anything to learn from dog training?


This might sound like a strange question, but I believe the answer is “yes”. It’s all about putting behaviour on cue. In this article I talk about the behavioural science behind putting behaviour on cue. The fundamentals apply whether we are talking about training a dog, conducting an orchestra, coaching gymnastics or teaching a child with disabilities how to get dressed.
