My family

On these pages I will tell you some stories about my grandfather, on my mother’s side, who served in North Africa, Gallipoli and the trenches of France – and survived – in the First World War.

I will also reproduce a letter sent from a family friend in England to my ancestor on my father’s side, who came to Australia from Lancashire in the 1850s, describing the social conditions back home.
